In the earlier blogs I provided the information about Definition of SEO, Some history and basic concept. In this blog I will provide some information about revolution in ranking the websites for search engine.

As webmaster understood about how old algorithm works they started manipulating the web ranking and tried to get higher ranking by putting more fake links, high quantity but less quality material, irrelative or excessive keywords.

Initially some companies like Altavista and Infoseek modified their algorithm of ranking the websites for preventing their search engine from manipulation.

Some companies which used overly aggressive technique on website ranking which ultimately banned some websites from their search results. Traffic power is one of them which used high risk technique and denied to disclose it to webmasters. This technique once sued blogger and SEO aron for writing about the ban. After all this things happen, Google and some other search engine decides to put their guidelines about search engine optimization. Google creates sitemaps and Bing creates Bing webmaster tools for helping webmasters in creating the sites which has higher ranking.

Sitemaps: - Google creates this program for webmaster. By Sitemaps webmaster can know that Google has problem in indexing their websites. Other than this sitemaps also useful for providing the data on Google traffic to the websites.

Bing webmaster tools: - This tool from Bing gives the way to webmaster about how to submit site map and web feeds. Apart from that it allows users to determine crawl rate and provide helps in how to keep record of the web pages index status.
